Drafty is the Internet's only draft room provider that lets a participants submit a custom player pool to use for their draft. This is really useful if you hate Drafty's player rankings, want multiple player copies, have really deep rosters, etc.
You can even submit your own draft pool for non-players! Here's some popular ideas:
- Olympic nations
- Superheroes & Villains
- Actors / Movies
- Disney characters
- Pokemon
If you can put together your own list, you can draft it on Drafty!
CSV Format
Your submitted player list must be in a CSV format, which is a universal spreadsheet file format. You can export a CSV from Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers, and many text editor programs.
Required Columns
Your spreadsheet must include three columns: (1) Name, (2) Position, (3) Team
Try a mock draft to see how these three data fields show up in the draft room. In essence, the name is large and bold and the position/team appear just below and smaller.
The column headings must appear in row 1 and match the following:
- Name
- Pos
- Team
All other columns will be ignored. Each row after the first should contain player data to appear in your draft list. Players will be uploaded to your draft room in the same order as they appear in your spreadsheet.
Player Data in Table Rows
If drafting non-players, feel free to use the Position and Team columns for your own arbitrary notations (e.g. release year/director's last name for Movies, universe/franchise for Superheroes, or attack type/generation for Pokemon).
Each player field has the following character limits:
- Name (max. 36 characters)
- Pos (max. 12 characters)
- Team (max. 24 characters)
If a player has multiple positions, please separate them with a comma and no spaces (e.g. "PF,C" not "PF, C" nor "PF+C"). This will ensure the appropriate position filters are visible in your draft room.
How To Submit
Once you've exported your CSV file, you'll upload it during your draft room setup. Just toggle Submit Your Own Player List to YES and a file uploader will appear. If your file contents pass validation, you'll see a preview of your player list appear in a table. Double-check to make sure all your players show up correctly. If they don't, edit your CSV file as needed and try the uploader again.
